The purpose of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts is to recognize dancers for their outstanding artistic merit, leadership and academic achievement. Members of NHSDA promote a desire for lifelong learning in the field of dance and encourage an understanding of and an appreciation for dance as an art form; and develop knowledgeable audiences for tomorrow.
Responsible for taking the lead in organizing meetings and creating agendas. As President,
you are the main contact between faculty advisors and members. Takes a large role in developing the
vision for the society for the year. Assists with coordinating events, promoting the society, and
overseeing other positions of leadership.
Provides assistance to the President and fulfils the duties of the President in their absence. You will be of assistance with performance/service project planning and any other duty needed by the society. The VP specifically focuses on the organization and effectiveness of the running and communication of the chapter.
The main focus of this position is tracking the Point System and making sure that each member and future member are up to speed on the requirements. The secretary will take notes from each meeting and prepare minutes as a record of meetings and to inform members who were excused from the meeting
You will set up the budget for the Chapter and be responsible for the financials of any projects or fundraising we do throughout the year.
This committee is responsible for directing the advertising for any performances, projects, or fundraising we participate in and promoting activities to the community. They will also reach out to business/people in the community for service opportunities, partnerships, or performances.
This committee chair will oversee gathering information such as photos, videos, blogs, etc., to be posted on social media platforms.
